FOAKLEYS
I just got an email from a rider in Poland wondering if the Monument Snowboard decks on this Polish Snowboard shop were fake or real.
Obviously they are not real, and they are in sizes that weren't even being made when we originally had them done. Apparently the factory we had used in 2003-2004 is still producing some of our older decks. That should stop fairly soon as we'll have our lawyers send a cease and desist. The reason why we used that particular factory for a year (yes only one year) was because our US factory we had used failed to come through, and we needed another immediately. I guess they are hard up for money. From our standpoint there's no reason to spin this, flat-out it's some shady factory selling decks to the grey market that aren't authorized to, and old decks at that.
Please check with us if you are unsure whether a MNMNT Snowboard deck is for real or not. We work closely with our vendors and distributors, and if a deck is in your country where we don't have a distributor, it's most likely fake. I guess we can take it as somewhat of a compliment.
I don't think we will be raiding factories like Oakley used to back in the day to crack down on Foakleys, but please help support a real rider-owned and operated by buying Monument Snowboards products from Authorized Monument Snowboard dealers. We're not owned by greedy investors or run by a corporation. We appreciate your continued support and please contact us with any questions you have about Monument!

Riding in the Summer on the East Coast

MNMNT Youth Crew Rider Doug Mercer has been kicking it in Wilmington, NC for the summer and visited the Snowflex Centre over in Lynchburg, VA. The highly anticipated grand opening is happening on the last Saturday of August, with Justin Ryan formerly of DFI Films, now with FUEL TV to come back to film (originally from VA). I hear that Discovery Channel and some other folks are coming to film tomorrow. Rumor also has it that the dry slope holds about 30-40 people before it starts getting crowded.

I didn't know that pictures were taken at the center last month until someone posted up a Facebook link which included a picture, which is shown below. I saw the familiar base, and was like crap, that's Doug! They used pictures of him and Pip when they went to visit last month in their best of shots.
We'll be keeping an eye on this park for sure.
